By Catbird out of Mrs. Squillionaire, Green Birdie is closely related to Onemorenomore and Casino Prince. His dam Mrs. Squillionaire is by Last Tycoon out of the mare, Kew Gardens, making Mrs. Squillionaire a full sister to Palia and Lady Capel, the dams of Onemorenomore and Casino Prince respectively. In recording his sixth win in the Krisflyer, Green Birdie scored his biggest victory of his 30 career starts to date and in the process defeated a star-studded field which included Rocket Man, Happy Zero, Gold Trail and Eagle Falls. Green Birdie was bred at Whakanui Stud and offered for sale at the 2005 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier sale where he was sold for NZ$230,000. Green Birdie commenced racing in Australia where he raced 7 times for 2 wins and 2 places, one of which was a second in the Gr2 Schillachi Stakes behind star mare, Miss Andretti. He was subsequently sent to Hong Kong where he has raced with distinction. The victory by Green Birdie in the Krisflyer and the race track exploits of Casino Prince and Onemorenomore, illustrate that this family is loaded with talent – something that broodmare owners will no doubt find attractive in when selecting stallions for their mares.
